HCS Continues a Record-High "95 A" Grade on 2025 State Report Card

Hoover City Schools is proud to announce that the district has earned an A on the 2025 Alabama State Report Card, maintaining last year’s record-high score of 95 for the second year in a row. This continued achievement reflects the dedication of our students, teachers, staff, and families and reinforces the district’s commitment to supporting strong academic growth across the district.

The Hoover City Schools leadership team is proud of our faculty and staff for going above and beyond to review student data, find areas for improvement, and put strategies in place to help every student grow academically each year. 

“Maintaining this record-high score for a second year speaks to the collective strength of our school community,” HCS Superintendent Dr. Kevin Maddox said. “Our teachers, staff, students, and families continue to work together with purpose, and their commitment shows in these results. While the state report card is only one of many metrics used to measure our district's success, we are proud of this achievement and even more committed to the ongoing work that ensures every student has the opportunity to grow and succeed.”

Districtwide Highlights

  • Continued District High Score: HCS maintained its highest-ever recorded district-wide score of 95 

  • Statewide Excellence: HCS is among the highest of the top-performing districts statewide, scoring in the top 8% of all district report cards statewide

  • 95+ Schools: 12 of our 16 schools earned a 95 or higher - an amazing feat

  • Top Scores: 6 of our 16 schools earned scores of 99 or higher, with two of those schools scoring a perfect 100

  • Title I Success: Every Title I school in Hoover City earned an A grade on the state report card

  • College and Career Readiness: Increased to 92%

Dr. Chris Robbins, HCS Assistant Superintendent for Instruction, celebrated the district's continued positive progress, emphasizing his deep pride in the incredible daily efforts of every teacher and leader in our district. 

"Maintaining this high standard for a second year speaks volumes about the culture of excellence our schools have cultivated. This is a shared success. It's built on the collaborative spirit of our teachers and leaders, the determination of our students, and the unwavering support of our entire community. We will celebrate this achievement and continue to build on this strong foundation." Dr. Robbins said.
