Hoover City Schools is proud to name Dr. Kerry Pate-Davison as the new Executive Director of Human Resources. As a dedicated educator and administrator with over two decades of experience, Dr. Pate-Davison has been a vital part of the HCS team since 1999, serving in a variety of leadership roles that include human resources, school administration, school counseling, and classroom instruction.

Since 2018, she has served as the district’s Human Resources Coordinator, leading numerous district-wide initiatives, including strategic recruitment efforts, employee training programs, and process improvements that strengthened talent management and support systems across the district.

She has also served as an assistant principal at Brock’s Gap Intermediate School, a school counselor at Bumpus Middle, Greystone, and Shades Mountain Elementary Schools, and a middle school teacher at both Simmons and Bumpus Middle.

“Dr. Pate-Davison brings a blend of instructional, counseling, and administrative experience to this role,” said Dr. Kevin Maddox, Superintendent of Hoover City Schools. “Her deep understanding of our district, combined with her strategic leadership in human resources, makes her the ideal person to help lead our HR department.”

In her new role, she will direct all secondary human resources functions for the district, ensuring alignment with the vision, mission, and strategic goals of HCS. She will oversee the recruitment, hiring, onboarding, and evaluation of personnel while providing guidance and support to principals and supervisors. Dr. Pate-Davison will manage employee relations, professional development records, and compliance with employment laws and district policies. She will work collaboratively with the other Executive Director of Human Resources for elementary education and the Chief Talent Officer to build a supportive and high-performing work environment across the district. She will begin this new role on June 1.

Dr. Pate-Davison received her doctorate in Educational Leadership from Samford University, her master’s degrees in educational leadership and school counseling from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, and her bachelor’s degree in education from Mississippi State University. She is an active member of the American Association of School Personnel Administrators and the Alabama Association of School Personnel Administrators and a proud graduate of Leadership Hoover, Class of 2020.

“I am truly honored to be appointed Executive Director of Human Resources,” said Dr. Pate-Davison. “I am passionate about building effective human resources functions that contribute to the growth and success of our employees, which ultimately benefits our students. I look forward to continued service with our district’s talented human resources team and our local school and district leaders.”

Hoover City Schools is excited to have Dr. Pate-Davison’s continued leadership in advancing the district’s efforts to recruit, retain, and support a high-quality workforce dedicated to the success of Hoover’s students.
